ABOUT

VIOLET INDIGO BLUE, ETC.

Violet Indigo Blue, Etc. (VIBE) is a literary and cultural publishing project founded in 2021. It has been based in Delhi, London, Belfast, and Cork so far.

VIBE is concerned with the materiality and physicality of artistic production. We primarily publish poetry, but are interested in expanding its definition, and are also occasionally open to other genres.

We are wholeheartedly committed to the political left, and while not everything we publish need explicitly engage with this, any opposition to or contradiction with the basic tenets of anti-capitalism (in your work, your beliefs, or your conduct) will indicate that VIBE is not the right place for your work.

Publishing with VIBE is a collaborative endeavour, and all profits from sales are distributed equally among VIBE, the contributors, and any guest editor(s), if applicable. VIBE’s running costs overwhelmingly come from the EIC’s personal pocket, so we truly appreciate any donations you are able to offer to help with things like domain hosting, website costs, etc., since we run at a loss.

We think professionalism is bad but we accidentally do it sometimes anyway. Please give us money.

PACBI

VIBE is committed to the cultural, academic, economic, and political boycott of israel and those who profit from or collaborate with it. You can read more about PACBI (Palestinian Campaign for the Academic and Cultural Boycott of Israel) here.

VIBE and its artistic production exist within a broad matrix of capitalist exchange and profit, which we endeavour to resist. We believe fervently that none of us are free until all of us are free, and aim to be in active and vocal support of anti-capitalist and anti-colonial movements the world over, including those in Palesine, Kashmir, and elsewhere.

If you are aware of any actions VIBE has taken or participated in that contradict this, please reach out to us, and we will aim to correct our trajectory. Similarly, if you are looking for collaborators / facilitators / platforms through which to promote or enact any efforts against occupation(s) or their agents, we would be eager to work with you and offer whatever support and resources we are able.
